JSW MG Motor India is making a significant shift from traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to new energy vehicles (NEVs), including strong hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery electric vehicles. This strategic focus was emphasized by company Director Parth Jindal on Wednesday.

On the same day, the company launched its electric crossover utility vehicle 'MG Windsor,' marking the first product introduction since JSW Group's investment in MG Motor India. Aiming high, the company plans to roll out a new car every four to six months, targeting over 50% of its total sales to be electric vehicles by 2024.

Rajeev Chaba, CEO Emeritus of JSW MG Motor India, announced that EVs currently constitute 35% of the company's sales, with the introduction of Windsor expected to boost this figure to more than 50%. The Windsor features a 38 kWh Li-ion battery pack, offering a range of 331 kms on a single charge and rapid charging capability. The company also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan for easier ownership. Bookings open on October 3, with deliveries starting October 12.
