India is setting its sights on capturing a tenth of all global patents in 6G technology, Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia announced Wednesday at the 51st AIMA National Management Convention.

With the world's fastest-growing 5G rollout and 4.5 lakh 4G towers built in just 22 months, India is accelerating its transition to 6G through the Bharat 6G Alliance. 'Our target is to ensure 10% of international patents for India in 6G,' Scindia stated.

Scindia emphasized India's rise as a global economic force, crediting indigenous technological development and government initiatives like the PLI scheme, which has attracted significant investment, produced equipment worth Rs 50,000 crore, and created nearly 18,000 jobs. He also highlighted the commitment to digital connectivity, with goals to connect every corner of the country by mid-FY 25.
