Government Initiates Semicon 2.0: Boosting Semiconductor Investments in India
The government is developing Semicon 2.0, the second phase of its semiconductor policy, which will be implemented within 3-4 months. This announcement was made by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at SEMICON India 2024. Several states have already attracted semiconductor investments, with a new unit expected in Uttar Pradesh.

The government has begun developing Semicon 2.0, the next phase of its semiconductor policy, anticipated to be operational in the next 3-4 months, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated on Wednesday.
At the SEMICON India 2024 event, Vaishnaw revealed that 3-4 states have successfully drawn semiconductor investments, with one manufacturing unit set to open in Uttar Pradesh shortly.
''We have completed the first stage of the semiconductor project. Now, we're formulating Semicon 2.0, which will be a more expansive version of Semicon 1.0. We expect it to be ready in 3-4 months,'' Vaishnaw added.
