Canada is set to enhance its military support for Ukraine by sending 80,840 surplus small unarmed air-to-surface rockets and 1,300 warheads in the upcoming months. This announcement was made by Defense Minister Bill Blair on Friday.
An initial shipment of 2,160 unarmed CRV7 rockets was dispatched in June, each of which can be equipped with warheads for various targets including buildings, tanks, and soldiers. In addition to the rockets, Blair revealed that Canada will donate chassis assemblies from 29 M113 armored personnel carriers and 64 Coyote armored cars, which are no longer in use by the Canadian armed forces.
Since the onset of the Russian invasion in February 2022, Canada has committed approximately C$4.5 billion ($3.3 billion) in military assistance to Ukraine.
