Reliance Industries Limited has been granted approval to set up a 10 GWh capacity battery manufacturing facility under the Rs 3,620 crore-Production Linked Incentives (PLI) scheme for ACC Battery Storage, announced by the government on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Heavy Industries had received bids from seven global bidders under the PLI scheme for 10 GWh Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) manufacturing, with a budgetary outlay of Rs 3,620 crore.

Among the bidders, ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Limited, Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Private Limited, Anvi Power Industries Private Limited, JSW Neo Energy Limited, Lucas TVS Limited, and Waaree Energies Limited collectively proposed a cumulative capacity of 70 GWh.
