On Sunday, Telegram released a statement defending its founder, Pavel Durov, after his recent detention in France. The company reiterated that it adheres to European Union laws, including the Digital Services Act, and that platform moderation is continually improving.
Telegram stated, 'Telegram's CEO Pavel Durov has nothing to hide and travels frequently in Europe. It is absurd to claim that a platform or its owner are responsible for abuse of that platform.'
The messaging application expressed the hope for a quick resolution, adding, 'Telegram is with you all.'
