Telecom giant Bharti Airtel has posted a significant rise in its consolidated profit for the first quarter of 2024-25, with figures jumping to Rs 4,160 crore—a more than 2.5 times increase from the previous year's Rs 1,612.5 crore. This remarkable growth is attributed to better average revenue per user and an exceptional gain of Rs 735 crore.

The company's consolidated revenue from operations saw a modest increase of 2.8%, reaching Rs 38,506.4 crore. However, there was a noticeable reduction in capital expenditure, which dropped by 23.44% to Rs 8,007 crore. In India, the capex decline was even steeper at 27%, reducing to Rs 6,781.2 crore.

The impressive financial performance has been bolstered by customer base expansion and infrastructure enhancements. Airtel's total customer base grew by 7.3% to 567.5 million, with the 4G and 5G customer base rising by 13% year-on-year. The company's recent efforts have also seen a 12.4% increase in data usage per customer, alongside a strategic focus on expanding fixed wireless access services across numerous cities.
