Ukraine's military announced a significant strike on a Russian weapons and equipment storage facility in Kursk overnight. This operation is part of a series of attacks Kyiv has conducted in that region recently.

A statement released on Wednesday confirmed the military is now assessing the inflicted damage. Despite Russia's efforts to counter the attack with air defences, explosions were observed at the targeted locations. The Russian defense ministry reported intercepting one incoming drone and a Ukrainian Neptun guided missile in Kursk, along with shooting down 18 additional drones in multiple regions, including Crimea. Earlier this month, Ukraine claimed strikes on power substations and oil depots in Kursk.

After 29 months of extensive warfare, Ukraine has deployed long-range drones to hit strategic targets up to 1,500 km away, aiming to enhance their missile capabilities. Ukraine's digital minister indicated plans to produce thousands of long-range drones by 2024. Meanwhile, Kyiv's air force successfully repelled one of Russia's largest long-range drone attacks of the war, downing all 89 drones aimed at Kyiv and the surrounding areas overnight.
