In a bid to maintain its dominance amid growing competition, Google Maps on Thursday rolled out a range of new features aimed at enhancing its user experience in India. These updates come as Ola Maps continues to challenge Google's stronghold in the country's mapping services sector.

Among the new features, Google has introduced EV charging station information, AI-driven routing capabilities to help four-wheeler drivers avoid narrow roads, and call-out flyovers along recommended routes. These innovations are expected to make navigation more efficient and user-friendly, according to senior executives at Google Maps.

Additionally, Google announced a significant price reduction of up to 70% for its Maps platform for developers. This strategic move follows a recent push by Ola Founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, who encouraged Indian developers to adopt Ola Maps, offering incentives like a year of free access.
