A global Microsoft outage on Friday led to disruptions in multiple sectors globally. Bourses stated on Saturday that Indian stock exchanges and clearing corporations remained largely unaffected by the technical glitch.
In India, despite the outage impacting some brokerages, including 5paisa, IIFL Securities, Motilal Oswal, and Angel One, exchanges continued operations without significant interruption. Eleven trading members reported disruptions, which were either resolved during the day or are currently being addressed.
The Microsoft outage affected flights, banks, media outlets, and companies worldwide. However, Indian financial institutions, including banks and stock exchanges, maintained normal operations. The outage was attributed to a CrowdStrike update impacting Windows-based systems globally.
