Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced an actionable plan with defined timelines for critical issues discussed with telecom operators and other industry players on Tuesday.

Scindia convened meetings with three out of six committees established by his ministry, attended by top telecom executives including Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani, Bharti Airtel Founder Sunil Bharti Mittal, and Vodafone Idea MD Akshaya Moondra.

Emphasizing a deep agenda, Scindia remarked that committee members would collaborate closely. The first presentations are scheduled over the next few weeks, after which detailed action plans will be devised to further the sector.

Industry body COAI Director General S P Kochhar also attended the meeting. Scindia described these committees as the backbone of the Indian communication sector, integral to achieving the Prime Minister's vision of a self-reliant and globally dominant telecom industry.

Scindia also met with representatives from internet service providers, infrastructure, academia, and R&D committees. On Monday, he held discussions with advisory groups on satellite communications and the electronics ecosystem, attended by leaders from Nokia, Samsung, Cisco, STL, Tejas, Viasat, and Hughes Communications.
