Telegram getting 15 new features including channel recommendations, instant view on desktop

Telegram is rolling out several new features, including recommended channels, the ability to view your own profile and display your channel and birthday on your page, instant view on the desktop app, and much more.

A key update is the introduction of a new 'Channels' tab in the search interface that shows the channels you follow. The tab also suggests new channels based on the topics of existing subscriptions.

Telegram's latest update adds a 'My Profile' section under Settings where you can now view and edit your profiles as others see them. You can pin up to 3 stories to the top of your profile page to highlight your achievements or fun memories.

Additionally, you can now add your birthdays to your profile, complete with privacy settings to control who sees this information. On your birthday, visitors to your profile are greeted with animated confetti and balloons. Moreover, a reminder banner appears in the chat list when it is someone else's birthday so that you don't miss out on sending birthday wishes.

Next up, you can now showcase your channels directly on your profile pages with a preview of the latest post above the bio.

Telegram has also improved its location-sharing features. You can share your live location with friends or groups and even set alerts for when they arrive at a destination. There's also an option to extend the duration of location sharing or keep it active indefinitely until manually turned off.

Further, forwarded messages will now display the user's profile picture from whom they were forwarded, making them more recognizable in the chat.

With this update, you can now activate Stealth Mode from the chat list by simply pressing and holding a story in your feed and selecting 'View Anonymously'. Stealth Mode is available to Premium users on Telegram.
