ColorOS 12 public beta now available for OnePlus 9/9 Pro: Report
The ColorOS 12 brings a new borderless design, Smart Sidebar 2.0, free-floating window, Cross-Screen Interconnection feature for PC connectivity, Car+, Omoji 3D Avatar feature, new security and privacy features like Privacy Dashboard and Notification Smart Anti-Peeping, among others.

Last month, Oppo unveiled the ColorOS 12 based on the latest Android 12 operating system and also shared the update schedule for both OnePlus and Oppo smartphones. Now, the ColorOS 12 public beta is available for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro, as well as for the Oppo Find X3 series in China.
According to GSMArena, the development was announced in a post by the Weibo account of ColorOS. As previously confirmed by the company, the next batch of devices to receive the ColorOS 12 update will be the Oppo Find X2 series and the Oppo Reno 6 series.
Late last month, the companies announced that they are integrating their software resources to focus on one unified and upgraded operating system for both OnePlus and Oppo devices globally, with the OnePlus CEO and Oppo CPO Pete Lau saying that the unified operating system will keep the DNA of OxygenOS. The integration is expected to be fully completed together with the next major Android update in 2022.
ColorOS 12: Features
According to Oppo, ColorOS 12's new AI-based engine reduces RAM usage by up to 30% and background power usage by up to 20%. The Android 12-based UI layer brings the following new features:
