In a commanding display, second seed Alexander Zverev overwhelmed lucky loser Jesper De Jong with a 7-6(3), 6-4, 6-1 victory to advance to the French Open quarter-finals. Zverev eyes his maiden Grand Slam as top contenders have already exited the tournament.

The match started competitively with both players exchanging breaks in the first set until Zverev clinched the tiebreak. Jesper De Jong, celebrating his 26th birthday and ranked 106th globally, found little to celebrate as Zverev maintained control.

Zverev's powerful performance continued into the third set, rapidly establishing a 3-0 lead before sealing the match. Next, he will face Spanish newcomer Rafael Jodar in the quarter-finals.
