Sanju Samson Joins Elite Club with 5,000 IPL Runs Milestone
Sanju Samson has become the 10th player in IPL history to score 5000 runs, achieving this during Chennai Super Kings' match against Gujarat Titans. Samson reached the landmark with a four off Kagiso Rabada, joining a prestigious group of cricketers and becoming the third fastest to the milestone by balls faced.
Chennai Super Kings' Sanju Samson made history by becoming the 10th player to amass 5,000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He achieved the milestone in a match against Gujarat Titans held in Chennai on a recent Sunday.
In a remarkable performance, Samson reached the landmark with a boundary off Kagiso Rabada in just the second over of the match. His statistics are impressive, with 5,008 runs in 180 innings, an average of 31.69, and a strike rate of 140.59, including five centuries and 26 half-centuries in his career.
Samson, who has played for Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Daredevils, and now the Chennai Super Kings, reached 5,000 runs in 185 matches. He is noted as the third fastest to this achievement by ball count, surpassed only by AB de Villiers and David Warner, and leads CSK's current season scorers with 304 runs.
