In an unprecedented move, the Border Security Force (BSF) recently promoted Constable Shivani to head constable, acknowledging her outstanding achievement at the World Wushu Championship. The young athlete, only five months into her service, secured a silver medal in the prestigious event held in Brazil.
This extraordinary recognition reflects not only Shivani's exceptional talent but also her dedication and commitment to excellence. The BSF made special arrangements with the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to facilitate her rapid promotion, a process that usually spans 15 to 18 years for most constables.
The BSF, safeguarding India's borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh, occasionally grants out-of-turn promotions to outstanding personnel. Recently, Constable Anuj was similarly honored following his stellar performance at the 10th Sanda World Wushu Championship in China, underscoring the force's encouragement of excellence in sports.
