Indian Boxing Revival: New Era in National Competitions
Ajay Singh, president of the Boxing Federation of India, assures that national boxing camps will resume soon with a revised selection process. Despite delays and internal disputes, Indian boxers are promised continuous participation in championships, focusing on fair representation and reinstating competitive vigor.

In a move to rejuvenate Indian boxing, Boxing Federation of India President Ajay Singh announced that national camps will recommence promptly, supported by a new coaching team. The BFI aims to ensure that the nation's boxers no longer miss out on international tournaments and will be well-prepared for upcoming competitions.
Indian boxing has been stagnant since the Paris Olympics, with athletes missing key international events. The men's team is currently competing in the World Boxing Cup's first stage in Brazil, while delays in conducting the National Championships have hindered female boxers' participation. Singh emphasized ongoing efforts to maintain consistent involvement in crucial contests.
To enhance the selection process, Singh outlined plans for a broader inclusion of boxers in national camps. Significant changes are being introduced, such as incorporating boxers from additional competitions like the REC Open Talent Hunt Program. Despite the BFI's leadership challenges, Singh reassures that the federation is steadfast in supporting athletes' growth and development.
