Para table tennis player Rishit Nathawani's dreams of becoming a professional cricketer were shattered after a devastating sports injury in 2017 left him paralysed from the neck down during a casual kabaddi match.

Despite the grim prognosis, Nathwani refused to lose hope. He embraced para table tennis as his new sport and clinched a gold medal in the men's Class 5 event at the Khelo India Para Games 2025.

With the support of his family, especially his mother Vidhi, Nathwani's journey of recovery has been marked by rigorous rehabilitation and a newfound determination to raise awareness about para sports.
