Shubhankar Sharma, a staple at the Indian Open since its introduction to the DP World Tour in 2015, and Veer Ahlawat, who earned his tour card by winning the PGTI Order of Merit, are set to lead the Indian charge. Sharma has consistently performed, maintaining his playing rights since 2017.

The duo will join 28 other Indian golfers, including four amateurs, in vying for the $2.25 million prize at the Hero Indian Open held at DLF Golf and Country Club. Notable competitors include former winners SSP Chawrasia and Dubai-based Rayhan Thomas.

Sharma, expressing camaraderie with Ahlawat, lauded his dedication, while Ahlawat acknowledged Sharma's guidance. Both players are keen to capitalize on their home-ground advantage in this prestigious event, which they regard as a 'fifth major' for Indian golf.
