Cricket fans are gearing up for the upcoming ICC Women's World Cup qualifiers set in Lahore from April 9 to 19, with Fatima Sana retaining her position as captain of the Pakistan team.

Following the careful assessment of players' fitness and form, the Pakistan Cricket Board's selectors have recalled Shawal Zulfiqar, who is back in action after a shoulder injury in December 2023. In a surprising move, Aliya Riaz, not covered by the women's central contracts since last November, has been chosen for the qualifiers.

The qualifiers, taking place at the Gaddafi Stadium and LCCA ground, feature teams from Bangladesh, Ireland, Thailand, Scotland, and the West Indies, marking Pakistan's second ICC event hosting of the year after the men's Champions Trophy.
