Tuchel Advocates FIFA Schedule Change for Player Welfare
Thomas Tuchel, the England manager, has called on FIFA to rearrange the June international window for improved player rest. He emphasized the importance of providing players a genuine break, while England captain Harry Kane highlighted balancing financial and welfare concerns.

England manager Thomas Tuchel has called on FIFA to revise the current June international window to better accommodate player rest requirements. Highlighting the demanding nature of the football calendar, Tuchel stated, "The June window is not ideal for anyone, especially the players."
Tuchel suggested that FIFA could realign the calendar to ensure players receive an extended break at the season's end. He emphasized the importance of a rest period spanning three to four weeks, noting, "That's the problem."
Meanwhile, England captain Harry Kane acknowledged the conflict between financial incentives for clubs and player welfare. Kane expressed that while players enjoy the game, a sustainable balance is crucial to avoiding injuries, "There are arguments from the club's point of view to generate more money," he said, "But there's also a player welfare point where there's only so much you can do without more injuries."
