Cricket enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the 2025 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in India, scheduled from September 29 to October 26. The grand finale will be held at Mullanpur's Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium. Host cities include Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Raipur, and Indore, according to ESPNcricinfo. Notably, only Visakhapatnam has hosted international women's matches before.
The ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam last hosted a women's game in 2014, with a history of six T20Is and five ODIs. Indore's Holkar Stadium replaces the Nehru Stadium, which hosted two Women's World Cup matches. As hosts, India qualifies for the tournament, alongside Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. The final two team slots will be decided through qualifiers in Lahore, starting April 9.
Pakistan's participation depends on the qualifiers and an agreement with India, determining match locations, potentially the UAE or Sri Lanka. The qualifiers feature Bangladesh, West Indies, Pakistan, Ireland, Scotland, and Thailand, ranked by the ICC Women's ODI Team Rankings. This World Cup will be India's first 50-over hosting since 2013, with a format similar to 2022.
