Former Bangladesh cricket captain Tamim Iqbal's health is stabilizing after he experienced cardiac arrest during a Twenty20 match. The 36-year-old was promptly admitted to the hospital where doctors performed an emergency procedure to relieve a blockage in his heart artery.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board reported complaints of chest pain as Tamim led the Mohammedan team against Shinepukur in the Dhaka Premier Division. National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases director Abdul Wadud Chowdhury, after assessing Tamim, confirmed a positive diagnosis but urged caution.

Dr. Chowdhury noted that the risk of complication is minimal but not negligible, advising Tamim to stay under hospital observation. Tamim, an illustrious cricketer, expressed his heartfelt thanks to his supporters and medical team after the health scare.
