Afghanistan Cricket Finds New Home in Abu Dhabi
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub (ADCSH) have signed a five-year agreement, establishing Abu Dhabi as the training and competition hub for Afghan cricket teams. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub (ADCSH) have forged a five-year partnership, positioning Abu Dhabi as the UAE host for all ACB training camps and competitions for Afghanistan A and national youth teams, according to ESPNcricinfo.
This agreement, lasting until 2029, could lead to a collaboration with the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) to facilitate senior men's matches using UAE facilities, marking a significant step in international cricket relations.
ADCSH CEO Matt Boucher emphasized Abu Dhabi's role in fostering global talent, stating, 'Our facilities have already welcomed the world's best players, and this agreement reinforces our commitment to cultivating global sporting talent.'
Naseeb Khan, ACB's chief executive, highlighted the comprehensive facilities available in Abu Dhabi, noting the impact on Afghanistan's cricketing future.
