Skipper Shreyas Iyer showcased a masterclass in power-hitting, leading the Punjab Kings to a formidable position against Gujarat Titans in their Indian Premier League clash. His unbeaten 97 from 42 balls, punctuated by nine sixes, propelled Punjab to 243 for five on Tuesday.
Iyer's innings stood out as a stellar example of aggressive batting, compensating for the underwhelming performances of some teammates. The young Priyansh Arya contributed with 47 off 23 balls, while Shashank Singh added a quickfire 44 not out.
On the bowling front, R Sai Kishore emerged as the top performer for Gujarat Titans, taking three wickets for 30 runs. However, it wasn't enough to contain Iyer's explosive contribution as Punjab Kings edged close to the coveted 250-run mark.
