Spain's Pablo Larrazabal emerged victorious in a gripping Hero Shot competition on Tuesday, edging out India's Shiv Kapur. The event served as an exciting prelude to the upcoming Hero Indian Open, testing the players' skills and distance control in a unique contest.
The competition featured eight top contenders, including Dr Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, defending champion Keita Nakajima, and 2024 runner-up Veer Ahlawat. Notable players Marcel Siem, Daniel Hillier, and Rafa Cabrera-Bello also participated, with Larrazabal and Kapur advancing to the final round.
The final demanded precision across three clubs: Driver, 5-iron, and Pitching Wedge. Each player took three shots per club, with Larrazabal clinching the win and a USD 4,000 prize. Kapur secured USD 2,000 as runner-up. Anticipation builds for the Hero Pro-Am, where 138 players will compete for a USD 2.25 million purse this Thursday.
