In an intense showdown at the Asian Championship, Indian wrestler Sunil Kumar is set to face Jiaxin Huang of China for the bronze medal in the 87kg Greco Roman category. After a decisive 10-1 win over Tajikistan's Sukhrob Abdulkhaev, Kumar fell short against Iran's Yasin Yazdi in the semifinals.

While Kumar continues his journey, his compatriot Sagar Thakran exits following a 10-0 quarterfinal defeat to Jordan's Amro Sadeh in the 77kg category. Thakran's hopes rested on the outcome of Sadeh's semifinal match, underscoring the narrow margins of victory in competitive wrestling.

Elsewhere, in the Indian camp, Umesh (63kg) missed out in the qualification round but holds a glimpse of hope for a repechage, contingent on his opponent's success. Meanwhile, Nitin (55kg) and Prem (130kg) were unable to advance past their preliminary rounds.
