The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the inclusion of Allahudien Paleker from South Africa and England's Alex Wharf into the prestigious ICC Elite Panel of Umpires. This move sees them succeed outgoing members Michael Gough and Joel Wilson, further solidifying the panel's expertise.
Jayaraman Madangopal, recognized for his umpiring credentials, has been elevated to the Emerging Panel, a progression that grants him eligibility for officiating overseas Tests and ODIs. Madangopal has previously officiated in one Test, 22 ODIs, and 42 T20Is, marking his significant presence in international cricket.
ICC chairman Jay Shah expressed optimism about the new members, emphasizing their readiness to handle the scrutiny and pressure that accompany this elite status.
