Ghana is leading Group I with 15 points from six matches, marking significant progress towards securing a spot in the 48-team World Cup set to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. They currently sit five points ahead of second-placed Madagascar, and six points ahead of Mali, with four rounds still to play.
Elsewhere, Mali stumbled to a 0-0 draw against Central African Republic, impacting their chances. Ivory Coast regained the top spot in Group F thanks to a Sebastien Haller header, while Tunisia capitalized on goals from Seifeddine Jaziri and Elias Achouri to stay atop Group H, overcoming a tenacious Malawi side.
