Tiger Woods Faces Fresh Setback with Achilles Surgery
Tiger Woods recently underwent minimally invasive surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon, ruling him out of the Masters. With an uncertain timeline for recovery, Woods posted on social media about the successful procedure, which was conducted by Dr. Charlton Stucken.

Tiger Woods has suffered another setback in his storied golfing career after undergoing a less invasive surgery on his ruptured Achilles tendon. The surgery will prevent him from competing in this year's Masters and puts his participation in other major championships in doubt.
Revealing the news on his social media channels, Woods did not specify a recovery timeline but confirmed the procedure was successful. Dr. Charlton Stucken of the Hospital for Special Surgery performed the surgery, expressing optimism for a full recovery, although typical rehabilitation can take at least a month before bearing weight on the foot.
This isn't the first time Woods has contended with issues related to his Achilles. Previous injuries have forced early withdrawals and lengthy breaks. Most recently, he played at the British Open in July, and his extensive medical history includes a major leg injury from a 2021 car crash.
