Kazuyoshi Miura, commonly referred to as 'King Kazu', marked his 58th birthday with an exceptional milestone: commencing his 40th season in professional soccer. The Japanese forward, celebrated for his resilience and passion, currently represents the fourth-division team Suzuka on loan from Yokohama.

Amidst the looming start of the new season, Miura's dedication to the sport remains unwavering. At a press conference last year, he expressed his intent to continue playing, stating, 'Retiring isn't an option. I want to play as many minutes as I can in games.'

Miura's career is extensively international, having played professionally in Brazil, Italy, Croatia, Australia, and Portugal. His 1986 debut at Santos, alongside being the oldest professional goal-scorer at age 50, highlights a storied career that also saw him net 55 goals in 89 matches as a star for Japan's national team in the 1990s.
