Paris Olympics bronze medallist Sarabjot Singh is elated after being selected for the esteemed Arjuna Award. The young shooter believes this recognition will propel him toward improved performances on the international stage, particularly in representing India. Sarabjot, alongside Manu Bhaker, clinched India's first-ever bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics.

In a statement to ANI, Singh expressed his optimism, stating, "I am feeling great and this will motivate me to perform better." The announcement came as part of a larger recognition event where bright talents like double Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker, World Chess Champion Gukesh Dommaraju, and Indian men's hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh were awarded the Khel Ratna.

Apart from Sarabjot, several prominent Indian athletes including Jarmanpreet Singh, Sanjay, Abhishek, and Salima Tete have been honored with the Arjuna Award for exceptional achievements in the 2024 sports calendar. Additionally, former head coach Armando Agnelo Colaco is set to receive the Dronacharya Award in the lifetime category. The awards will be presented by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 17, 2025.
