Shooter Saurabh Chaudhary, who once shone as an Olympic medal prospect, has made a remarkable comeback by setting a new national record in the 10m air pistol event. His aim now is to secure a spot in the national team and return to top international competitions.
Having gone off the radar after an unsatisfactory performance at the Tokyo Olympics, Chaudhary faced a challenging period marked by a shoulder injury and a downturn in form. However, he shot a score of 591 in the National Championship qualification round at the Karni Singh Ranges, breaking his own previous record.
Reflecting on his journey, Saurabh explained he adapted to his injuries by modifying his posture. Though the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games isn't a focus for him, his dedication to practice, with the support of coach Samaresh Jung, remains unwavering as he aims to rejoin the national squad.
