On Wednesday, FIH President Dato Tayyab Ikram revealed plans to potentially resurrect the prestigious Champions Trophy, despite hurdles in fitting it into the packed hockey schedule.
Ikram emphasized the importance of widening hockey's global audience beyond the top nations, aiming to involve 35 countries in FIH events, an unprecedented move.
He also announced 'Pro League Connect', a project designed to incorporate other countries into the sport's ongoing leagues, ensuring a more inclusive international hockey scene.
