In a stunning display of cricket prowess, Mumbai's Ayush Mhatre shattered a world record on Tuesday, becoming the youngest player to score over 150 runs in a List A cricket match. The 17-year-old achieved this milestone during the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Nagaland, setting a new benchmark that surpassed the previous record held by India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Mhatre played with remarkable tenacity, amassing 181 runs from just 117 balls. His innings featured 11 sixes and 15 fours, propelling his team to an imposing total of 403 for seven in the allotted 50 overs. Despite being unaware of the record, Mhatre's natural aggressive batting style and strategic approach to setting personal targets were key to his success.
The young cricketer, hailing from Virar, crafted his skill set under the guidance of seasoned mentors and looks to continue his ascent in the sport.
