Wolverhampton's Cunha Faces Suspension After Confrontation
Matheus Cunha, Wolverhampton Wanderers' forward, was suspended for two games and fined £80,000 following an altercation with Ipswich Town staff. Charged with misconduct, Cunha admitted to the offense. He will miss matches against Nottingham Forest and Bristol City.
Wolverhampton Wanderers' forward Matheus Cunha has been handed a two-game suspension and an £80,000 fine after an altercation with Ipswich Town staff members. The incident occurred following a Premier League match earlier this month, according to the FA.
The Brazilian player was charged with misconduct after striking an Ipswich staffer and grabbing his glasses at the end of their 2-1 defeat on December 14. Cunha admitted to acting improperly, leading to sanctions imposed by an independent Regulatory Commission.
The 25-year-old striker, who has scored 10 goals and provided four assists in 19 league games this season, will miss Wolves' upcoming home game against Nottingham Forest and their FA Cup third-round match against Bristol City.
