Argentine soccer legend Lionel Messi has launched his real estate investment trust, Edificio Rostower Socimi, on the Spanish market, setting off at 57.4 euros per share. This venture brings the company's market capitalization to a notable 223 million euros, or approximately $232.12 million.
Edificio Rostower, chaired by Messi, who currently plays for Inter Miami, boasts ownership of seven hotels in Spain and Andorra, alongside multiple office spaces and apartments in Spain, London, and Paris. Founded in 2013, the company reported a 1.7 million euro loss in 2023, as detailed by the Portfolio Stock Exchange.
The firm has not commented on its stock market debut, which occurred on Monday. Predominantly investing in Catalonia, Edificio Rostower reflects Messi's deep ties to the region, where he moved in 2000 at age 13 to play for FC Barcelona and lived until 2021. His wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, serves as vice-president, with other board members including Alfonso Nebot and Ramon Adell.
