According to Shastri, Rohit struggled with form, working hard on the fifth day but ultimately returning to the dressing room empty-handed.

Taking a defensive stance, Rohit meticulously faced 40 deliveries, compiling just nine runs. Despite successfully navigating through pace threats, his intent to counter Pat Cummins resulted in a fatal flick that landed in Mitchell Marsh's hands at gully, marking Rohit's downfall.

Following Rohit's exit, the Indian team crumbled. KL Rahul followed his captain in dire fashion, falling for a five-ball duck.
