India's cricket captain, Rohit Sharma, has openly acknowledged his current struggle with form following another disappointing display in the Test match against Australia at Brisbane. With expectations high and a decisive performance needed in the third BGT Test, Sharma's contribution fell short as he battled and lost against his counterpart, Pat Cummins. Sharma was dismissed after scoring just 10 runs off 27 balls, sparking further concerns about his wavering form.

Since rejoining the Indian team's lineup after sitting out the first Test, Sharma has managed only 19 runs over three innings. Criticism has been mounting, particularly due to his lackluster performances on home soil during India's 3-0 series sweep against New Zealand. During that series, the previously flamboyant opener accumulated only 91 runs in three Test matches, with a disappointing average of 15.17. Prior to that, during the series against Bangladesh, he amassed a mere 42 runs across two Tests, averaging just 10.50.

Sharma, however, remains hopeful, asserting that while his batting hasn't been up to standard, his preparations and physical condition are in good shape, foreshadowing potential improvements. He said in a post-match interview, "I have not batted well. No harm in accepting that. But I know what's in my mind, how I am preparing myself. It's about spending as much time as possible out there." Despite Australia's bold move under captain Pat Cummins to declare at 89/7, setting a 275-run target, the match concluded in a draw after rain interrupted proceedings. India's opening duo, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, showed resilience in countering the Australian pace attack before the game eventually ended with both teams shaking hands.
