Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis emerged as pivotal figures for Australia, securing a 29-run victory against Pakistan in the rain-curtailed first T20I at The Gabba in Brisbane. The match, initially disrupted by rain, was limited to just seven overs per side.

Pakistan, having won the toss, chose to field but struggled to contain Australia's aggressive batting lineup. Despite early breakthroughs by Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah, who dismissed Matthew Short and Jake Fraser-McGurk respectively, Australia's Glenn Maxwell delivered a spectacular innings, notching 43 runs off 19 balls.

Maxwell's performance, coupled with the decisive contributions from Marcus Stoinis and Josh Inglis, propelled Australia to a formidable 93/4. In response, Pakistan's batting lineup faltered against Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis, both of whom claimed three wickets each, cementing Australia's lead in the series.
