Bayern Munich Fined Over Fan Misconduct at German Cup
Bayern Munich was fined 150,000 euros by the DFB for fan disruptions during their German Cup match against Ulm. Supporters ignited flares, causing a three-minute interruption. Bayern can allocate part of the fine towards security measures. They will face Bayer Leverkusen in the next round.
In a recent ruling, the German football federation (DFB) fined Bayern Munich 150,000 euros due to fan misconduct during their German Cup victory against Ulm. The game, which Bayern won 4-0 on August 16, was briefly interrupted after fans ignited flares and fireworks.
DFB stated that at least 70 flares and four firework batteries were launched by Bayern supporters, causing significant smoke and a three-minute delay in the match. Some of the projectiles were aimed toward the field, raising safety concerns.
Bayern has accepted the ruling, with the option to invest up to 50,000 euros of the fine into security or violence prevention initiatives. This development occurs as Bayern continues their cup run against Bayer Leverkusen on December 3.
