Niels Wittich Steps Down as Formula One Race Director

Niels Wittich has announced his immediate resignation as the Formula One race director, according to the governing FIA's latest update on Tuesday. His position will be filled by Rui Marques at the Las Vegas Grand Prix next week.
Wittich, a German national, had taken over the role in 2022, replacing Australian Michael Masi. The FIA confirmed that he has departed to pursue new opportunities, acknowledging his professionalism and dedication throughout his tenure.
Rui Marques, hailing from Portugal, brings experience as an international steward and race director in Formula Two and Three. As the season winds down, his new role will coincide with Max Verstappen's pursuit of a fourth consecutive title at the upcoming Las Vegas event.
