Scotland Reinforces Rugby Squad Ahead of Portugal Clash
Scotland's rugby team has added Johnny Matthews and Alec Hepburn following injuries, including Max Williamson's hand injury and red card. Jack Dempsey and Gregor Brown are also sidelined. After defeating Fiji, Scotland eyes Portugal before facing Australia in the Autumn series final match.
Scotland has bolstered its rugby lineup with the inclusion of hooker Johnny Matthews and prop Alec Hepburn. This strategic move comes ahead of their upcoming Autumn international fixture against Portugal, prompted by injuries sustained in a recent match against South Africa.
Lock Max Williamson is facing a setback due to a hand injury. He had stepped in as a first-half replacement after Scott Cummings received a 20-minute red card during the 32-15 defeat by the Springboks.
Additionally, number eight Jack Dempsey is out with a shoulder injury, and back-row player Gregor Brown has been sidelined with a rib issue, though he was not part of the squad that played against South Africa. After their decisive 57-17 win over Fiji, Scotland prepares to face Portugal and will conclude their series against Australia on November 24.
