In a stunning turn of events at the World University Shooting Championship, India's Smit Rameshbhai Moradiya emerged with a silver medal in the men's 10m air rifle event.
The unheralded shooter put up a fierce battle but was ultimately edged out of gold by Jiri Privratsky of the Czech Republic, who scored just 0.1 point higher at 252.2.
Meanwhile, prominent Indian shooters, including Olympian Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Paris Games contingent member Sift Kaur Samra, fell short of expectations, finishing in fifth and fourth positions respectively in their events.
