The Indian cricket squad began their journey to Australia on Sunday night, with the first group leaving from Mumbai Airport for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, a key series in their bid for the World Test Championship 2025 final. The initial test is slated for November 22 in Perth.
Among those spotted at the airport were pace bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep, along with all-rounder Washington Sundar, middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan, and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who engaged with fans by signing autographs. Assistant coach Abhishek Nayar also accompanied the group.
India faces a challenging journey after a disappointing home defeat by New Zealand. To qualify for the WTC final in London, India must achieve a 4-0 whitewash against Australia. The series will unfold in prominent venues, concluding with an exciting finale at Sydney Cricket Ground.
