The 14th edition of the Hockey India Senior Men National Championship marked its sixth day with intense clashes at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium. Hockey Punjab set the tempo in Pool A, clinching an impressive 8-0 victory over Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey. The standout performers included Gurjinder Singh, Surdarshan Singh, and Pardeep Singh, each netting two goals, while teammates Jobanpreet Singh and Gursahibjit Singh also found the back of the net.
Pool B witnessed Hockey Haryana's assertive 5-1 win against Telangana Hockey. Joginder Singh spearheaded Haryana's attack alongside contributions from Pankaj, Deepak, and Rajinder Singh. Despite a late strike from Telangana's Venkatesh Telugu, Haryana's dominance was palpable.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Hockey showcased their prowess in Pool F by defeating Hockey Jammu & Kashmir with an emphatic 11-1 scoreline. Captain Lalit Kumar Upadhyay's hat-trick highlighted the performance, supported by multiple scorers including Faraz Mohd. and Vishnukant Singh. In another Pool F matchup, Delhi Hockey overpowered Kerala Hockey, 6-1, driven by Nitesh's hat-trick and a brace from Dheeraj Vats.
Assam Hockey triumphed over Hockey Bihar in Pool H, finishing 4-1, with Abdul Qadir achieving a hat-trick. Manipur Hockey secured a 3-1 victory against Hockey Bengal, aided by goals from Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, Nilakanta Sharma, and Cyril Lugun.
