Phil Salt showcased a masterclass in power-hitting as his unbeaten century propelled England to a commanding victory against the West Indies in the opening T20I of the series. Salt's scintillating knock earned him the Player of the Match accolade, with his 103-run innings securing an eight-wicket triumph for the visiting team.

Set to chase 183, England openers Salt and Will Jacks began aggressively, forming a strong 50-run partnership by the fourth over. Despite Jacks' departure for 17, Salt continued his aggressive stance, reaching his half-century in just 25 balls. A sturdy partnership with debutant Jacob Bethell ensured England's steady progression towards the target.

Salt and Bethell's unbeaten stand of 107 from just 61 balls saw England to victory with 3.5 overs to spare. Bethell contributed a notable 58, while bowlers Saqib Mahmood and Adil Rashid led the attack, restricting the West Indies to 182/9 earlier in the game.
