Arshdeep Singh on the Brink of T20I Bowling Record

Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh is close to surpassing Bhuvneshwar Kumar's record for most T20I wickets by an Indian in a single year. With 33 wickets in 2023, he needs five more to achieve this feat as India faces South Africa in Gqeberha. The record for most wickets in a year belongs to Uganda's Alpesh Ramjani with 55 scalps.

Emerging Indian cricket star Arshdeep Singh is just five wickets away from toppling Bhuvneshwar Kumar's record for the most wickets by an Indian in T20 Internationals within a calendar year.

Arshdeep, who has taken 33 wickets in 21 T20Is this year, will have a chance to push his tally higher in the upcoming second T20I against South Africa in Gqeberha on Sunday. He put in a strong performance in the first match, where India secured a commanding 61-run victory, with a key dismissal of South African captain Aiden Markram.

While Bhuvneshwar Kumar holds the current Indian record with 37 wickets in 2022, Uganda's Alpesh Ramjani sits atop the global list with 55 wickets. Despite facing fierce international competition, Arshdeep's stellar form suggests he might soon make history himself.
