ICC Champions Trophy to be Held in Hybrid Model Amidst India-Pakistan Tensions

The PCB may have no choice but to host the ICC Champions Trophy in a 'Hybrid Model,' as the BCCI has reportedly informed the ICC of India's refusal to travel to Pakistan. Consequently, India will play its matches, including the marquee India vs Pakistan clash, in Dubai.
A BCCI insider claimed the sports body communicated to the ICC about India's travel constraints, and it remains the ICC's responsibility to update the PCB accordingly. Schedule announcements are conventionally released 100 days before tournament commencement, leaving PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in anticipation for official updates.
Naqvi, also serving as a federal interior minister, noted the absence of an official ICC notification and mentioned consulting the government if India avoids playing in Pakistan. Dubai emerges as a likely venue due to its superior stadium capacity and experience hosting significant events, including the recent Women's T20 World Cup.
