In a significant leadership shift within Pakistan's cricketing framework, Syed Sameer Ahmed has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). His appointment was ratified by the PCB's board of governors over the weekend.
Ahmed, who serves as a deputy commissioner in Lahore, succeeds Salman Naseer. Naseer, having been in the COO position for several years, has now transitioned to become the Chief Executive of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is poised to bring in more bureaucratic talent from his earlier tenure as caretaker chief minister of Punjab. Anticipation is high for further changes, especially within the International Cricket Department, where a new head is likely to be announced soon.
